
He’d tell you that he didn’t have a poltroon heart,
And to show it he’d accepted the man’s scary dare.
He’d gingerly grabbed the snake from its cage,
And he’s cuddled with it, as other people stared.
Inside he didn’t fare so good, as his hands shook,
And all he truly wanted to do was to be shed of it.
But like that pismire that is a determined worker,
He was surprised to find that he did have true grit.
