Be Strong, Courageous, and Confident: Sunday Devotion

2 Chronicles 32:7-8 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said.

Troubles can seem immovable, like huge stones too big for us to budge. But, when we place our faith in God through our belief in the reality of the Lord Jesus Christ, we find that we don’t actually need to try to move the obstacles and problems ourselves. The power with us is greater than anyone or anything that seeks to defeat us. The text today reminds us that we can be strong, courageous, and confident that God will help us and fight our battles. Today, in prayer and supplication, give the problems to God.

Amen!
