
Stifling a yawn, Carol ate fresh-baked oatmeal cookies, staring out at the rainy weather. As she listened to the toot of a trumpet in the background, she realized that as bad as things were, she wouldn’t ask the necromancer to tell her the future. She’ll take one day at a time.
