The Lord Equips You For the Work He Gives You: A Devotional

Exodus 36:1-2 So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the Lord has commanded.” Then Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord had given ability and who was willing to come and do the work.

Don’t worry about how you will do the tasks for which the Lord has called you. When the Israelites were commanded to build the Temple for the glory of God to live among them, specific instructions were given on dimensions and materials to use. The Lord informed Moses that individuals had already been chosen to do the work and been given the skills needed to be precise in the work.

It is the same for all that the Lord calls for work. Ephesians 2!0 states, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” The Lord will not give you work that he is not prepared to equip you to do. I am a living witness, for every sermon is His masterpiece through the Holy Spirit; I just open my mouth and speak the words He gives me to put on paper and preach to others.

Don’t be afraid to do the Savior’s will in your life, for we are wonderfully an marvelously made for His service. We are still fishing for men and women, because the Kingdom of God so needed today. Let the Lord use you, and He will give you the ability to do the work. It’s not by our strength, but by the Spirit of the Lord that we are successful in His work.

Amen.
