She watched him and smiled as he looked at his phone, turned pale, and quickly left the room. She wondered why cheaters believe that they are smarter than everyone else? He thinks she hasn’t the intellect to know that he is gadding about, spending her money on other women. He doesn’t even act discreetly, subjecting her to humiliation and ridicule. That stops tonight!
After many nights of insomnia trying to decide what to do about the issue, she prayed to God for courage to escape the horror of her life, to find release from the desperation of wanting a man in her life that makes her easy prey. There are people who excel as predators, as capable of smelling an injured soul as hungry lions are to spot the weakest animal in the flock. They charm their way into lonely lives, adept at knowing the right words to make a golden prison seem like salvation and isolation appear as love.
Earlier, she’d cancelled the credit card and closed the bank account associated with it. Then, she went to the restaurant where he always wined and dined his paramours, to witness his humiliation and shame. When the waiter informed him that his card had been denied, he took out his phone and checked the balance of the bank account. He got the surprise of his life. Let’s see how the other woman feels about having to pay for dinner!
Afterwards, she drove straight to the airport for the flight that would take her to real freedom. She would be no one else’s prey!
